coffee ceremony

This morning I really noticed the coffee as I was drinking it. My attention was caught by the steam rising from the cup and I could smell the aroma. Then I sipped it and the warm, sweet liquid coated the front of my tongue before sliding to the back of my mouth and disappearing down the gullet. A mini coffee ceremony.

The taste of coffee on my tongue is one of my premier addictions.

There are times when that cup of coffee is the most sumptuous and gratifying drink ... perhaps more than I expected. Then there are times it just doesn't come close.
It's curious that when I'm not expecting it ... not thinking of it ... is a time when it's delicious.
Then, when I'm looking forward to a great cup of coffee, I take an expectant sip ... and it seems to be dishwater.
I make it the same way every time, but it seems the kitchen elves are toying with me.

Thanks for summing it up so well. I think I’ll be returning here often. Best Regards.
